Along with some leading Roscoe Village merchants and village supporters, we are evaluating proposals for a new Winter Festival in Roscoe Village Ohio

We’d like to host a new Winter Festival in February 2010 on Valentine’s Day weekend.  Some attractions we’re considering are ice sculptures and live ice-carving demonstrations, ice wine from our local wineries, hot chocolate and local gourmet goodies — and maybe even a Roscoe Village Snowball Fight to benefit a local charity!

But, we need your input to do this right.  Will you help us by voting in our poll below?

Please tell us if you would attend a new Roscoe Village Winter Festival on Valentine’s Day weekend in February 2010.  You don’t need to log in, and we don’t need to know your name — just tell us yes or no.

Roscoe Village was founded in 1831 as a key shipping point for farm produce on the old Ohio & Erie Canal

Each fall at harvest time, farmers of yesteryear hauled their goods by wagon to Roscoe Village for shipping to hungry cities many miles away.

Today Roscoe Village is still situated in one of the most productive agricultural regions in Ohio.  The beautiful farms you see along the highway when you travel to Roscoe Village produce magnificent harvests every fall.

On Saturday August 8th, the Shoppes of Roscoe Village will celebrate our farm heritage with a Fall Harvest Preview.

Some of our best shops will be displaying new fall merchandise for you to preview and many local Coshocton County farmers will line the street with mid-season produce for you to enjoy– fresh from the farm.

UPDATE: The Roscoe Village Farmers Market is now held every Sunday from 11-3 on North Whitewoman Street in Roscoe Village.  Live music begins at 3:00 every Sunday on the Garden Court at the Warehouse Steak & Stein and you will find farm vendors in front of nearly every Roscoe Village shop all day.

Historic Roscoe Village Ohio is located in Coshocton, Ohio in the center of Coshocton County

You may know Coshocton Ohio as the host city of our famous shopping and dining center, Historic Roscoe Village and the Ohio & Erie Canal boat cruise

But did you know that Coshocton Ohio is the birthplace of the novelty advertising industry — as well as the whitetail deer hunting capitol of Ohio?

With its beautiful setting, unique family attractions and outdoor lifestyle,  it’s easy to see why Coshocton was recently named One of the Top 100 Midwest Towns to Visit by Midwest Living magazine.

On your next visit to Roscoe Village, we recommend you take your family on a short drive through Coshocton Ohio to find some of the other gems this city has to offer.  Many more jewels, such as beautiful new Clary Gardens (only 500 feet west of North Whitewoman Street in Roscoe Village) are sprinkled throughout the beautiful countryside.

To learn more surprising things you can find in Coshocton County Ohio, call the the Coshocton County Convention and Visitors Bureau for a free brochure 1-800-338-4724 or click here to visit their new website.
