We are very proud to announce that the 2009 Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival will feature a once-in-a-lifetime special event for visitors.
HistoricRoscoeVillage.com has joined with The Pomerene Center for the Arts and AmericanQuiltBarns.com to add Roscoe Village to the new national landmark called The American Quilt Barn Trail.
The American Quilt Barn Trail began in 2001 in Adams County Ohio and now features more than 2500 quilt squares hung on as many barns in 25 states across the country New Hampshire to Oregon.
Coshocton County, where Roscoe Village resides, now has 7 quilt barn squares and 6 more are being painted at this year’s Apple Butter Festival — including a special new square to be installed on the historic Blacksmith’s Building in Roscoe Village.
Throughout the 2009 Roscoe Village Apple Butter Festival, volunteers from all three organizations will be painting the new squares in a booth on North Whitewoman Street.
Visitors are cordially invited to join us at the Pomerene Center booth to pick up a brush and add their own strokes to this new national landmark.
Participation in this event is free, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make an indelible mark on this new national landmark. For many decades to come, you and your family can point to the new quilt barn square in Roscoe Village and be able to proudly say you helped to paint it.
