Welcome back to Roscoe Village.  We’ve missed you and it’s great to have you back!

Our beautiful village is bustling with activity once again, and this summer promises to be the most exciting season in Roscoe Village in many years.

Here are some of the highlights of exciting new things you’ll discover on your next visit to Roscoe Village.

NEW SHOPS

A fantastic new store, Medbery Marketplace, opened in June and two more will have grand openings in July.

Medbery Marketplace opened on June 1st, bringing a stunning array of new foodstuffs like homemade and artisan cheeses, an antipasto bar, fresh lemonade and iced-tea.   Click here for more about Medberry Marketplace.  We think it’s the best thing to happen in Roscoe Village since the Warehouse Steak n’ Stein opened in December 2008.

The new Village Pantry will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday July 3rd.  Offering gourmet cookware and an upcoming schedule of indoor and outdoor cooking classes and demonstrations, the entire village is abuzz over the new Village Pantry store.

NEW TREATS

And the world-famous canal boat captain and troubadour Captain Nye is planning to make a spectacular return to Roscoe Village in July.

Captain Nye’s Custards Coneys & Candy will open in mid-July, bringing delicious frozen custard treats, all-beef coneys and a dizzying array of candy.  We hope they’ll sell homemade fudge too, because we love it.

Keep an eye on this page in the next several days as we bring you all the updates about this great new sweet shop.

NEW SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT

The Garden Court at the Warehouse Steak n’ Stein has been completely renovated — with a new outdoor bar and grill — and fitted with a great new stage for live music throughout the summer and fall.

These updates along with consistently great food and service make the Warehouse Steak n’ Stein the most enjoyable place to dine in Roscoe Village.

The Warehouse Steak n’ Stein just released its full summer schedule of live music in Roscoe Village.  Click here to check it out.

The newest eatery in Roscoe Village, Captain Nye’s Custard, Coneys & Candy shop will host a grand opening in July ( more about that soon.)

Named for the famous (and slightly wacky) canal boat captain and songwriter, Captain Nye’s is all about fun ”strolling foods” you can take with you on a leisurely walk through Roscoe Village.

Frozen custard and 100% all-beef coney dogs are the highlights, and many more are coming soon.

We’ll have more on the shop’s grand opening soon.  But in the meantime Captain Nye’s is open now (every day) and we thought you might like to see some photos of the shop coming together.

Custom leather holsters at River Ridge Leather in Roscoe Village

Are you a Cowboy Action Shooting enthusiast?

If so, you need to make a trip to visit River Ridge Leather Shop in Roscoe Village Ohio.

These two western holsters and gun belts (shown left and bottom right) were custom made at River Ridge Leather Co.

Both custom Cowboy Action shooting rigs were handmade from 100% premium bridle leather for rugged durability and authentic Western looks.

The holster at left was custom made for a single-action Smith & Wesson .357 revolver with a 5-inch barrel.  The holster at bottom-right was custom made for a single-action Ruger .44 with a 6-inch barrel.

Each was cut by hand from oak-tanned bridle leather, then completely hand-tooled and hand-stitched for a custom fit. Both were made by shop owner Dennis Knight and hand carved by his journeyman apprentice, Tom Sesterhenn

If you’d like to see more handmade custom leather work from River Ridge Leather, then saddle-up old Cyber Paint and click on over to www.RiverRidgeLeather.com anytime — day or night — 365 days a year.
